The real story on thread count. High vs low

If you are looking for your sheets to be as soft possible to the touch and cool, a lower thread count is probably the best. If you are looking for very warm sheets that are thick and more durable, you need to go with the highest thread count sheets possible.

Many people assume that the highest thread count is the softest sheet. This is actually the opposite of the truth! In fact, a sheet of a better-quality fiber with a lower thread count will feel softer and stand up to washing better than a sheet of a lower-quality fiber with a higher thread count.

Low thread count Egyptian Cotton Sheets, 100% Cotton Sheets, Bamboo Sheets and a high quality microfibre are the lightest, which are great for warm seasons or climates. Sets, like the 400 Thread Count Egyptian Cotton, are popular for the summer months as well, as they are very breathable and help you to stay cool at night. The lower thread count sheet sets are extremely soft straight out of the packaging without any need for many washings and long-term use to help soften the fibers, which makes for a great sleeping experience immediately!
